At Taronga, she works as the Unit Supervisor of Carnivores… that’s right, she’s a lion keeper! Her role is varied and covers duties such as carnivore husbandry and management, animal training and enrichment, diets and nutrition, staff training and supervision, media work, conference presentations and other forms of public speaking, research, education and conservation work.
Louise is the proud author of The Art of Introducing Dogs – a guide for conducting dog to dog introductions and regularly presents webinars, speaks on podcasts and at conferences nationally and internationally.

Denise Bergin
Delta Accredited Instructor
Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services [Delta Institute]
Denise has worked for Positive Dogs since 2016 and teaches our Senior Puppy, Adolescent Dog, Building Skills, Advanced Skills and My Challenging Canine courses.
She has been a successful dog groomer since 2007 and through that role, Denise began to research how to best address dogs with handling issues — She learned that science-based, positive reinforcement training is very effective and lots of fun! This led to her becoming a professional dog trainer.
For Denise, pictured here with her beloved Rufus, each day is an opportunity to spend time with dogs and work to make their grooming experience a positive one. Equally, each class or training session is an opportunity to educate and communicate with guardians and dogs alike using positive reinforcement.

Robyn Basman
Delta Accredited Instructor
Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services [Delta Institute]
Robyn has worked with Positive Dogs since 2021 and volunteers at Sydney All Breeds on Sunday mornings. Growing up, Robyn’s father rescued native animals which greatly fuelled her curiosity about animal behaviour.
Robyn’s experience walking and sitting dogs, plus fostering rescues, exposed her to dogs with behaviour issues, leading her to research the best training methods. Robyn discovered that science-based approaches are the kindest and most effective for building strong relationships.
Through fostering, Robyn has seen dogs become beloved family members and she adopted two dogs herself during the COVID-19 pandemic, Shelly (pictured) and Bear. Witnessing the challenges dogs face without a good start in life has taught her the importance of trust in building a strong human-animal bond.

Isabel Romero Cetin
Delta Accredited Instructor
Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services [Delta Institute]
Isabel’s love of animals started as a kid growing up in her parents’ farm in Argentina, where she was surrounded by Cocker Spaniels, Fox Terriers, and lots of horses. She trained horses for show-jumping and competed in this sport for a number of years.
